This is one of my all time favorites and I’m really excited to share it with you! I’m so happy that I did this craft project. I love mine! My friends come over they are so amazed by the tranquility and ambiance this adds of my patio. This hula hoop chandelier will turn an evening into a soft romantic atmosphere in a matter of no time. I could sit out there for hours. I have a hard time sitting still and this has helped me to do that! You can make a few of these for a wedding held in an old barn. I went to a wedding out in the boonies a few years ago and the wedding and reception was held in a barn. There was a lot of low lighting, but this would have been perfect lighting for their wedding. I think my granddaughter would love this in her room. She wants a light on when she sleeps and I think this would create a real calming effect for her sleep. I guess I’ll be making one for her room too! This would be cool for all kinds of events held in the evening! If you’re into meditation, this provides a perfect calming effect! Another time I experienced this type of really peaceful feeling I was snow skiing down a path, by myself, and all I could hear was the snow crunching under my skis. Get your peaceful feeling on!
I went to one of my favorite stores, the Dollar Store, to buy a hula hoop, then I went to Michael’s to get some feminine lace to cover the hula hoop with (you can also use white tape), and also use as some hanging pieces. I bought three rolls of lace really cheap with my Michael’s coupon. They had “icicle” white lights in their after Christmas sale items, so I got those really cheap. After gathering all my items for this project I fired up my hot glue gun, wrapped the lace around the hula hoop, glued the female end of the lights to the hula hoop and started winding the lights around it. I measured out three long pieces of lace and tied them to the hula hoop in a triangle position for hanging.
Watch how it’s made in this step by step tutorial so you can have your very own magical lighted chandelier too!
