I’m going to be sharing more of the nitty gritty details about Infusible Ink in an upcoming post, but here’s the 411 of what you need to know now about Infusible Ink!

Cricut Infusible Ink comes in transfer sheets and pens:

—> For the transfer sheets you can cut a design using your Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker and then transfer it onto a Cricut Infusible Ink blank.

—> For the Infusible Ink Pens you can draw any design you want to onto a piece of paper (what?!?!? So amazing right?!?!) and then transfer your design onto a Cricut Infusible Ink Blank.

Blanks currently come in 4 options:

—> Coasters

—> Tote Bags

—> Onsies

—> Shirts

One you’ve created your design and picked your blank  you add some heat from the Cricut EasyPress and then the magic happens:

—> The ink is permanently infused INTO your blank. It becomes one with your material!

—> Because it’s infused into the blank that means that it’s seamless!

—> Infused AND seamless mean that there’s no flaking, no peeling, no cracking, and no wrinkling – ever!!!

Find this baby onesie design and some others that I think are adorable here.

Step 1: Select your design and size it for the blank you are putting it on. Click “Make It”.

On the following screen make sure you press the “mirror” slider and then click continue.

Select your Cricut cutting machine and select Infusible Ink Transfer Sheet as your cutting material.

Load your transfer sheet onto your mat with the design facing up/liner facing down. I like to use my brayer tool to really push the transfer sheet onto the mat.

Load into your machine, click the Cricut C and cut your designs.

Step 2: Remove your designs from the cutting mat. Cut around the design saving the extra transfer sheet. Weed the design removing excess transfer sheet leaving just your design behind on the clear plastic backing. Note that the transfer sheet material is lighter than it will appear once pressed.

Step 3: Heat your Cricut EasyPress to 385F.

Place your onesie on top of your Cricut EasyPress Mat and then put a piece of cardstock inside of your onesie to prevent the Infusible Ink from bleeding through to the back of the onesie.

Use your lint roller to remove any lint, hair or dust particles from your onesie.

Lay a piece of butcher paper on top of your onesie and heat for 15 seconds. Do not skip this step. Heating the onesie removes any moisture from your onesie and allows the Infusible Ink to properly infuse into the onesie and work it’s magic!

Remove the butcher paper and lay your design onto your onesie. Since my design was cut from two different transfer sheets I trimmed the plastic backing close to the words, making sure I could lay all three pieces on the onesie so none of the plastic was overlapping. I used heat safe tape to hold my design in place.

Lay your butcher paper back on top of the onesie and then press using your EasyPress for 4o seconds. Be careful to not slide the EasyPress or move your hands around while it’s being pressed. You want your EasyPress to remain still. At the end of the 40 seconds carefully lift the EasyPress and leave your onesie with the butcher paper on top of the design to cool.

Once your design has cooled lift the butcher paper and carefully peel up the plastic liner revealing your design! (Note if transfer sheet doesn’t come up with the plastic backer use a pair of tweezers to carefully lift it up.)

Machine wash in cold water inside out with mild detergent. Tumble dry low or line dry. Do not use fabric softener, dryer sheets or bleach.
