She Makes 5 Healthy Breakfast Smoothies You Gotta Try…They’re So Yummy!

Are you one of those people who skips breakfast? I can’t judge because I used to do the same thing until recently! I guess it’s a New Years thing! I finally got it through my thick skull that breakfast IS the healthiest meal of the day and if I do skip it my metabolism slows down and I won’t stay trim doing that! Plus, I feel much better now that I am eating breakfast and I’m putting good things into the ole’ body! Oh, and P.S. You don’t have to just enjoy these at breakfast time, but just don’t skip breakfast!

My breakfast consists of smoothies like the ones the Domestic Geek makes in this tutorial. They are fabulous and I’ve gotten my kids into them as well! Cereal isn’t that healthy for them and I feel better knowing they’re going out the door after having something more nutritional in their tummies.

I buy A LOT of fruit and lettuce now…seems like I’m always buying it! The upside of this is that they are chalked full of antioxidants. Antioxidants come up frequently in discussions about good health and preventing diseases. These powerful substances, which mostly come from the fresh fruits and vegetables we eat, prohibit (and in some cases even prevent), the oxidation of other molecules in the body.

Antioxidants are substances that may protect cells in your body from free radical damage that can occur from exposure to certain chemicals, smoking, pollution, radiation, and as a byproduct of normal metabolism.

Consuming foods rich in antioxidants may be good for your heart health and may also help to lower your risk of infections and some forms of cancer. Increase your antioxidant intake by eating more nuts, seeds, legumes, fruits, and vegetables. These smoothies have got you covered with antioxidants!

Watch how the Domestic Geek makes these mouthwatering smoothies in her step by step tutorial and get busy buying your fruits, veggies and greek yogurt!
