This tutorial took me by surprise when I saw that she started out by using a plastic planter tray! I love all of the creative minds who turn ordinary household items into whimsical bird baths!
A few years ago, we bought a bird bath on clearance at the end of the season. We brought it home, set it up, and within a week, it had fallen over and broken into several pieces. And that could have been the end of the story, except that Hubby decided to glue it back together a couple of weeks ago.
Then, I ran across this tutorial and just had to try it, although I was intimidated by the grout when I rubbed it over the pretty colorful tiles (and pebbles) I spent time breaking up for this project. But, not to worry, all you do is wipe it off, once the grout has gone into the grooves and cracks!
This is one of the easiest DIY projects I’ve ever done…don’t know why I hadn’t tried this before now! All I want to do is mosaic projects now!
By the way, this makes for a great Father’s Day gift…he just loved it and was so surprised! He was even more surprised when he found out that I made it!
